September 6, 2016 Election Minutes
At the special called meeting of the Fire and Police Pension Fund held on the 6th day of September 2016, Vice President Kelly Simmons presided. The meeting was held at the Pension Office. The purpose of the meeting was to count ballots from the annual pension election and to elect officers for the Board Year 2017.
The meeting convened at 1600 hours with board members Craig Joel, Kelly Simmons, Mark Coffman, Phillip McClain, Charlie Thomason, and Tommy Meeks. Attorney Bill Robinson was also present.
The vote tally was:

Police Department
LT Craig Joel—2
Unopposed
Motion by Phillip McClain and seconded by Charlie Thomason to certify the results of the election. Motion carried unanimously. The Board congratulated Mark Coffman and Craig Joel. Mr. Coffman and Mr. Joel took their seats on the Board.
Mark Coffman nominated Craig Joel as Board President. No other nominations were made. Motion by Tommy Meeks and seconded by Phillip McClain to end nominations. Motion carried. Nomination approved unanimously. Mr. Simmons passed the gavel to Mr. Joel.
Phillip McClain nominated Mark Coffman as Board Secretary. No other nominations were made. Motion by Kelly Simmons and seconded by Tommy Meeks to end nominations. Motion carried. Nomination approved unanimously.
Phillip McClain nominated Kelly Simmons as Board Vice President. No other nominations were made. Motion by Charlie Thomason and seconded by Mark Coffman to end nominations. Motion carried. Nomination approved unanimously.
Motion by Phillip McClain and seconded by Mark Coffman to name Craig Joel, Kelly Simmons, Douglas Kelley, and the pending City Council representative to the Board of the Chattanooga Firemen’s and Policemen’s Pension and Insurance Fund’s Real Estate Holdings Company. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Phillip McClain and seconded by Tommy Meeks to name Craig Joel, Kelly Simmons, Tommy Meeks and Vickie Haley to the Personnel Committee. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Phillip McClain and seconded by Tommy Meeks to name Vickie Haley, Mark Coffman, Phillip McClain, Katrina Abbott, and Frank Hamilton to the Policy Committee. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Phillip McClain and seconded by Kelly Simmons to adjourn at 1605 hours. Motion carried unanimously.
