At the regularly scheduled meeting of the Fire and Police Pension Fund Board of Directors held on the 6th day of July 2017, President Craig Joel presided. The meeting was held at the Pension Office, 6009 John Douglass Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
The meeting convened at 0912 hours with board members Craig Joel, Tommy Meeks, Mark Coffman, Charlie Thomason, Kelly Simmons and Vickie Haley. Attorney Bill Robinson was also present. Phillip McClain was an excused absence.
Motion by Mark Coffman and seconded by Tommy Meeks to approve the minutes of the June 15, 2017 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Police Officer Douglas Rawson appeared before the Board to submit his application for a job-related disability. Officer Rawson is currently on light duty. The Board accepted his application and noted this could be a lengthy process.
Board Attorney Bill Robinson discussed the need for the Fund to consider Cyber Security Insurance. Fund Administrator Katrina Abbott will consult with providers and current vendors to further assess the need in today’s technological environment.

The Board reviewed the bills paid since the last meeting.
Attorney Bill Robinson also updated the Board on the new state legislation that requires governmental entities subject to the Tennessee Public Records Act (TPRA) to establish a written Public Records Policy. The Board discussed the Policy. Motion by Charlie Thomason and seconded by Mark Coffman to adopt the Public Records Policy effective July 1, 2017. Motion carried unanimously.
The Board recessed for an executive legal session at 0945.
Motion by Mark Coffman and seconded by Tommy Meeks to adjourn at 1045 hours. Motion carried unanimously.
